Destacure (Desloratadine) Syrup

Product Information:

Destacure Syrup contains the active ingredient desloratadine (2.5 mg per 5 ml), a long-acting, non-sedating antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of allergic conditions. It is an orange-coloured syrup taken by mouth to help control allergic reactions by blocking histamine — a chemical released during allergies.

How to Take:  

Administration:

• Take by mouth once daily, with or without food.

• Use a proper measuring spoon or syringe to get the correct dose.

Dosage:

Typical dosing (general guidelines):

• Adults & adolescents (≥ 12 years): 10 ml (5 mg) once daily

• Children 6–11 years: 5 ml (2.5 mg) once daily

• Children 1–5 years: 2.5 ml (1.25 mg) once daily
  (Infants under ~1 year: consult a doctor before use.)

Warnings:

• Allergy: Do not take if you’re allergic to desloratadine or any ingredient.

• Alcohol: Avoid alcohol, as it may increase drowsiness. 

• Pregnancy & breastfeeding: Use only if clearly needed and advised by a doctor. Desloratadine may pass into breast milk. 

• Liver & kidney impairment: Use cautiously and consult a doctor; dose adjustments may be necessary. 

• Driving & machinery: Although usually non-sedating, some people may feel drowsy or dizzy. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you. 

• Children: Always use under medical guidance, especially in younger children.

Side Effects:
